Guided walks

In 2017 we launched a guided tour mobile phone app including three walks with images and audio at a series of points on each, which are also included here on our website:

Walk 1: The Warner Estate Beginnings
Starts at St James Street station.
Based on a walk led by Neil Houghton of the Walthamstow Historical Society, with additional research by the ‘WE’ project, and narrated by Jennie Stallwood.

Walk 2: The Leyton Estate
Based on a walk led by David Boote of the Leyton & Leytonstone Historical Society, with additional research by the ‘WE’ project, and narrated by David Boote.

Walk 3: The Winns Estate and the Town Planning Estate
Using research gathered by the ‘WE’ project and narrated by Jennie Stallwood.
